Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain a message sent directly to us when needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems receive basic technical and usage details when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when available
- Device type and operating system
- Browser type and version
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand traffic in aggregate, including popular pages and points where visits end. Browser controls can reject cookies, although doing so may alter how some site functions behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The published material explains how to reach the Sioux County sheriff, the Iowa District Court clerk, and the offices in the county department directory, along with the Iowa DCI repository and Iowa Sex Offender Registry. Iowa Code chapter 22 governs access to public records held by government bodies, while chapter 692 controls dissemination of Iowa repository criminal-history data. Neither makes this private resource the custodian of those records. We are not a consumer reporting agency, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy terms govern information entered there, including retention and sharing choices that we do not control. Review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff, court, Iowa agency, legal-help, or third-party service pages. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and tailor ads. We do not operate those tracking systems.

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:

This service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it.

Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. The Iowa Open Records Law in Iowa Code chapter 22 concerns government records rather than a private site's visitor data. Iowa Code chapter 692 separately regulates state criminal-history dissemination. Subject to the law that applies to your request, you may:
