This Is Not a Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull criminal records, run official background checks, remove or correct a record, or accept expungement filings for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the right government office directly.
Need an Official Record?
Use the office that holds the specific Sioux County record:
- Court cases and certified copies: Sioux County Clerk of District Court, 210 Central Avenue SW, Orange City, IA 51041; 712-737-2286; county hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays
- Arrest, booking, jail, and sheriff reports: Sioux County Sheriff's Office/Public Safety Center, 4363 Ironwood Avenue, Orange City, IA 51041; 712-737-2280; jail line 712-737-3131
- Statewide criminal history: Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Investigation, Criminal History Record Dissemination Unit
- Police incident records: the law-enforcement agency that created the report; use the county department directory for local routing
- Expungement filings: the court that handled the case, with current Iowa Judicial Branch forms
The sheriff is the primary county counter for jail-only checks and sheriff reports. The clerk is the authoritative counter for complaints, dispositions, judgments, older case files, and certified court documents. Call the correct office before a visit when a current service hour or document requirement is important.
